Should I wait for my daughter/son’s adult teeth to come in before considering Orthodontics? The Canadian Dental Association recommends every child have an orthodontic assessment no later than age 7. That’s because not all orthodontic problems can be treated if we were to wait for all adult teeth to be present. Waiting on treatment can lead to a less than ideal result. Certain orthodontic problems are best treated when children have a combination of adult and baby teeth. Do you provide financing options? We offer flexible financing options such as 0% financing and extended payment plans. We will work with you to create the perfect payment plan. What is a no-fee orthodontic consultation? We want to make sure you have a good idea of your orthodontic condition is and what your treatment options. In an orthodontic consultation, you will get an opportunity to tour the office, meet the doctor and the team. The doctor will look at your mouth and assess the complexity of your treatment and review what treatment options are available to you. Together, we will discuss any concerns you may have with your orthodontic treatment. We do not require any commitment to begin treatment. Please call and we would be happy to book you a no-fee orthodontic consultation.

SELF-LIGATING BRACES
Technology and understanding in orthodontics is moving forward at a lightning pace. Self-ligating braces is a great example of how improvements have made to the patient experience. These new style of braces do away with the rubber bands attached to each bracket to hold the wire in place. Instead, the bracket has a built-in door that is closed to hold the wire. This results less friction between the bracket and the wire. Less friction results in less pain for the patient and can reduce overall treatment time.

Braces

Braces are an effective treatment option for orthodontics. The technology in braces and the treatment style used by some dentists have evolved significantly over the past decade. It works by bonding brackets to each tooth in the mouth. A memory metal wire is secured to each bracket. The wire provides the appropriate forces to move the teeth. The wire is regularly changed to direct the teeth to their final positions. The patient is then given a  retainer appliance to ensure their teeth do not drift from their final positions.
